How to Embed a libsyn Podcast Player in Your Website

By Steve Stewart on October 31, 2017 6

Media host provider libsyn offers a number of podcast players you can quickly embed on almost any website.

If you can embed a YouTube video on your website, then you can do this too.

Steps to Embed a libsyn Podcast Player in Your Website

Step 1: Log into your account

Step 2: Go to Content > Previously Published (or Scheduled)

click on previously published or scheduled for release in libsyn toolbar

Step 3: Click on the Link/Embed button for the episode

embed a podcast player on your website, step 3: click on the link/embed button

Step 4: Scroll down to find the player you want, then click “Preview/ Get Embed Code”.

We will use the Custom player in this example:

Step 5: Copy the iframe code. Paste the code in a blog post or page on your website.

That's it. Once you publish the episode, the player will become visible for anyone coming to your website…

Go ahead, click on the buttons below to see all the features a libsyn Custom Player offers:

NOTE: This is HTML code. If you are using a WordPress website then paste the code in the “Text” pane:

Tip: You can also embed a Category Player, or what I call the Library Player.

It lists all your episodes, or you can have it display only certain episodes on one post or page.

Hi RJ. I haven’t heard of anyone else having problems embedding the libsyn player on their WordPress sites. I have a few sites that do this and we haven’t had any issues.

Can you give me more details about what you are seeing?

As far a I can figure it out, I can only embed a Libsyn player in my WordPress site if i have the correct plugin but I don’t have plugins on my plan (it would cost me about an extra £150GB per year to get the on the appropriate plan). It does let me embed a Soundcloud player though which doesn’t make sense. Beginning to regret my choice of going with WordPress.

Hmmm. You don’t use a plugin to copy/paste html/iframe codes into a WordPress page/post – or even a SquareSpace page/post. I’m not sure why your site isn’t letting you do that.

Are you using the Block Editor or Classic Editor on your WP site?

I would like to embed a player so all episodes are available, not just embed a single episode. is there a way to do this, Steve!?

Hi Aromathrive. Yes, you absolutely can. Check out this video about the Category Player: https://stevestewart.me/how-to-use-libsyn-categories/
